Here's what seemed unreal to me finally happened. But indeed, dreams do come true; one just needs to try.
On Trinity Sunday, June 3, 2012, to Kiev, into our family, our little sunny princess Assol, a brown curly puppy, flew from England.
She is a small but courageous traveler who bravely endured the flight from London to Kiev. She irreversibly conquered our hearts with her tireless cheerful character. Amazing! And I hope it's a good sign for us.
Assol was born on February 15, 2012, one day earlier and five years later than Antar! We watched as she grew, became stronger, played with her brothers and sisters in distant England, and immediately fell in love with her, but we all feared to scare away our luck.
Assol appeared in the Stormacre kennel, in a large family of curlies. It's a relatively young kennel by English standards, about 16 years old. Stormacre Lady Larissa, Assol's mother, gave birth to 7 puppies on February 15: 5 boys (3 black and 2 brown) and 2 long-awaited girls (1 black and 1 brown). It was as if it was meant for us. Lara, the mother, has a brown color, so Catherine and Louise, the kennel owners, really wanted a black girl, but we got our brown Solka.
Catherine and Louise, big fans of the rock musician Jon Bon Jovi, gave the puppies names based on his songs. They named our beauty "Blaze of Glory" because of the white spot on our girl's chest. We all hope she lives up to her name. Many thanks to Catherine and Louise for their care and love for all the puppies, for our gentle girl, for the warm welcome in their hospitable home, and for delivering her to London.
Your and our Sunny Assol took a drop of your love with her, so everything will be fine. Brightmeadow Timothy's father, a wonderful black male, Assol's father, lives with Mrs. Margaret Bett in the Kelsmere kennel. She kindly invited us and our daughter to visit before leaving for London. She showed us her wonderful dogs, the father of our girl, Tim (Brightmeadow Timothy).
By the way, she has the last female from the famous Darelyn kennel. Mrs. Margaret Bett, an FCI and Cruft's expert, has been breeding and popularizing this wonderful breed of curly-coated retrievers for over 30 years. And not only in England but also in many countries in Europe. So now our princess Assol, thanks to her, has found her new home in Kiev, Ukraine. Good luck to you and thank you very much!
